It is by acts and not by ideas that people live.

Topic of the Week: Tay-Sachs Awareness Month in Ohio ! Ohio Governor Ted Strickland has officially declared November as Tay-Sachs Awareness Month and encourages all Ohio citizens to understand the importance of genetic testing and the need for research to help find a cure. This exciting educational outreach was made possible by the determined efforts of Ken Bihn and the Cure Tay-Sachs Foundation (CTSF). NTSAD applauds Ken and the CTSF for their efforts to have November declared as Tay-Sachs Awareness Month!
In partnership with the Cure Tay-Sachs Foundation, NTSAD encourages you to the same in your home state which will help lay the groundwork for a national Tay-Sachs Awareness Month! To get started simply contact your governor's office and ask! NTSAD will be happy to provide any needed documents and support materials. Awareness Month is not exclusive to Tay-Sachs! NTSAD will support efforts for declarations of any allied disease.
If you are hosting a fundraising event we suggest requesting the declaration for the month of the event. Otherwise, NTSAD suggests March in support of the Annual Family Conference. Please, remember that you can call the office and speak with Diana or Kim with any concerns,
questions or suggestions - our door is always
open!
