50th Celebration Gala: How far we've come and how far still to go…
What was life like for the parents that came together 50 years ago with the mission to eradicate Tay-Sachs and related diseases? Since that time, when so little was known about these heartbreaking diseases, tremendous accomplishments have been made from developing carrier tests preventing new cases to clinical trials bringing hope. But we still have so far to go.
The Gala evening will reflect on those past milestones with a focus on the challenging journey still ahead. Whether or not you will be at the Gala in person, you are all part of our story and our anniversary commemoration marking 50 years of compassion, hope and progress . You will be all around us, represented by some families and through your stories and photos. We'll be raising money at the Gala to support you and all of our programs over the coming year. We'll be acknowledging the progress, while not forgetting that much suffering still exists. Together it will strengthen our resolve in fulfilling our mission.
