Riley Nicole Luce

Riley Nicole Luce was born September 27, 2002. She is the daughter of Dave and Nicki Luce. Riley and her parents live in Coldwater, Michigan. Seeing a slow regression and not obtaining several milestones after 9 months, Riley was put through many tests. However, a simple eye exam which found cherry red spots pointed doctors to Riley’s fate. On August 28, 2003, at the age of 11 months, Riley was officially diagnosed with Sandhoff Disease. Although Sandhoff Disease has taken away Riley’s ability to walk, talk, laugh and play, and will ultimately cut her life way too short, it has not taken away her beautiful spirit that makes everyone who meets her fall in love with her. Wanting to give back in the only way Riley knew how, 12 inches of her beautiful long hair was donated to Locks of Love on August 9, 2007. Although her journey thus far has encountered many trials, she continues to show such incredible strength. Her fight to prove doctors and text books wrong continues on, Riley and her family are looking forward to celebrating her 6th birthday on September 27, 2008.
