NTSAD is dedicated to the treatment and prevention of Tay-Sachs, Canavan and related genetic diseases, and to providing information and support services to individuals and families affected by these diseases, as well as the public. Strategies for achieving these goals include research, family services, genetic screening, public and professional education and advocacy. The allied diseases include all the lysosomal storage diseases and leukodystrophies.
